Although I do hold out some hope that we can fight good and hard and that the new laws on possession of violent porn will not come to fruition, there is still of course the chance that they will.
But I will state right here and right now that if the new laws do come into force, that I have no intentions of clearing my hard drive, disposing of any burned cds that I have, or stop looking at the sites that I look at now.
I do not know how much effort the powers that be will put into tracking 'perverts' like me down, but there is a niggle in me that says if this does become law then a certain vindictive ex spouse (as previously mentioned in prior blogs!) would be likely to make a quick call to his police inspector brother to say "have a decko at what she has on her pc".
If and when this happens, I will not go quietly. I will kick and fight and scream in the metaphoric sense. No "it's a fair cop guv" from me! I have nothing to lose after all - my kids, my family, my vanilla friends all know what I do and what I am; I have no employer to take a dim view and sack me. Ok, I could lose my freedom if the maximum three year jail term was imposed, but hey, as far as I am concerned these proposed laws take away some of my freedom anyway! I will defend my right to look at what I want when I want within the confines of my own moral code, which is simply based on CONSENT.
